South Africa says foreign newsmen will not accompany U S Senator Robert F Kennedy on his upcoming visit and rejects turning the trip into a publicity stunt for a future presidential race. In a separate report, Ohio farmers' agricultural product sales topped 1 billion dollars in 1964 per the U S Census Bureau.

The Huron County Bank Ing Co. holds an open house in the 1881 original building and the newer extension next door. John Motsch invites residents to tour the new quarters with refreshments after 1 p.m. and souvenirs to be distributed. The investment in the extension totals $100 000 with remodeling by Janetta and Herner and design by Keith White.
UPI reports Senate GOP Leader Everett Dirksen, 70, hobbled into the Senate on crutches two weeks after surgery for a broken thigh. He praised his scar and said recovery may take weeks to months, promising to keep center stage in operations.
Norwalk city council session features a spoof hair regulation ordinance targeting male hair over 2 1/4 inches and a mock dispute with the portrait of George Washington. The meeting also extends the Masonic parking lot lease and discusses a beer carryout license for Lieber's Market.
The Norwalk City Council approved two finance actions in a brief session on Tuesday night. An ordinance authorizes a 3225 payment to Squire Sanders for bond consulting on a 2 million electrical improvement bond issue. The council also moved toward an election next November for a 300000 sewage treatment bond with a 0.72 mill levy previously defeated.
Ten applications have been received by the local Citizens Scholarship Foundation branch. A nine man awards committee led by chairman Jack White will meet Thursday to decide recipients based on class rank test scores financial need and school recommendations. The number of scholarships depends on merit and funds available with announcements around commencement. The Dollars for Scholars group formed locally April 28 and is financed from private funds.

Huron County Commissioners request financing from the Farmers Home Administration for a survey of rural and urban areas under 5500 population to qualify for federal grants. Action followed a request from Plymouth as it begins a sewer program.
In the northwestern part of Huron County several corn fields are infested with flea beetles. County Agent John Wells says fields with over 50 percent infestation should be sprayed immediately. The recommended insecticide is Sevin at two pounds per acre, with best results when sprayed directly onto the plants.
