Hollywood reports the 18th Emmy awards with about 40 statuettes up for grabs in a 90 minute CBS broadcast at 10 p.m. EDT. Batman challenges The Dick Van Dyke Show Bewitched Get Smart Hogan's Heroes for best outstanding comedy series. In Omaha Jon Fritz Johnson a legally dead Ohio salesman reappears as a local TV personality and is reported seriously ill with cancer.
Mexico's famed bullfighter Carols Arruza died at 42 after his station wagon collided with a bus on a curve twelve miles west of Mexico City. The moment of truth was muted by rain and wind in the pines as news spread.
A Viet Cong stronghold in a valley 275 miles north of Saigon faced air cavalry action as 1st Air Cavalry Division helicopters hunted guerrillas. Reports say 24 Viet Cong were killed Friday night and today, bringing four day total to 130 killed.

Superior Coach Co announces a 22 000 square foot expansion at the Garfield Jefferson plant and a new small but promising contract to build cabs for General Motors trucks. The luncheon at the Elks Country Club featured board members and Norwalk Chamber officials.
At a policy meeting in Norwalk the Traffic and Parking Committee of the Chamber of Commerce urged additional off street parking. Attorney T L Paffenbarger said many opinions were expressed and the committee will not publish decisions until a Chamber meeting with two Council committees on Monday.
Rain canceled the Norwalk Pet and Pup Parade at the Recreation Center though about 150 entries were judged. Bunnies stayed boxed and birds remained caged as wet children and pets lingered, many planning to attend cartoon prizes at the V F W Hall later.
The Norwalk board of education will review administration assignments including football in a special meeting Monday. Dale Olson says the session will cover football though not specifically the Norwalk High coach Tony Zuppe, who was replaced by James Gruden. Petitions support Zuppe amid local reaction.
Three people injured when two cars collided head on on a narrow Route 61 bridge in Peru. Names include Lawrence Messinger and Ruby Messinger of Monroeville and Hascell Stumbo of Plymouth. Traffic halted 20 minutes.
