Ohio to launch statewide weather warning system

The Commerce Department announced a teletype system to warn of tornadoes blizzards hail floods and freezes. It will feed newspapers and radio stations in 104 communities starting next month. A second item notes an amateur motion picture of President Kennedy's assassination was judged an illusion by a leading photographic laboratory.

Eisenhower Signals Readiness for Viet Nam Trip

General Dwight D. Eisenhower, after a 13 day hospital stay for gastroenteritis, expressed willingness to travel to Vietnam if President Johnson desired. He appeared pale but said he would undertake the trip with medical clearance.

Okay Construction Plans For Firelands BG Branch

The Building Committee gave final approval to architectural plans for the Firelands Branch of Bowling Green State University in Sandusky. State approval is pending after submission to the Department of Public Works and the state architect. Ground breaking is slated for mid July with bids opening in late June and the building expected to open in fall 1968.

Rockets Said to Reach Vietnam War Front From Russia

East European diplomats claim Russia has begun supplying North Vietnam with ground to ground rockets that could threaten Saigon and U S aircraft carriers of the Seventh Fleet. They say the weapons will add leverage to Hanoi in demanding a halt to U S attacks. No details on installation or timing were disclosed.

U S Forces Attack DMZ in Major Three-Pronged Invasion

U S and South Vietnamese troops launched a large three pronged assault into the DMZ by land sea and air aiming to wipe out more than 5 000 Communist fighters using the neutral zone as a war base. American spokesmen said the operation began Thursday and faced stiff Communist resistance. A Marine officer vowed to clean them out.

Fox Bounty Fund Runs Red In Huron County

The Huron County Sheriff's Department exhausted $700 in fox bounty funds in January and went $10 into the red. County commissioners added $200, funding may last only through the year. The agency pays $2 per fox for each four feet. this month $172 was paid, led by a hunter with 112 feet.

Queen Esther Fulton to appear at 1st Pet Pup parade

Mrs Esther Fulton formerly Esther Hughes queen of the 1945 Pet N Pup parade will join Saturday's event in Streetsboro Ohio with her two daughters aged 10 and 11. They will wear costumes identical to the queen's outfit from 22 years ago. The parade begins at 9 30.
