Five SLA members died in a Los Angeles fire exchange with police and FBI as they raided a south central hideout. Investigators pursued fingerprint and medical tests to confirm if Patricia Hearst was among the victims.
A seven year old boy calling himself Danny Roy was found in a park near Valdosta Georgia. He was allegedly dumped from a car during a camping trip by his father and cannot spell his last name due to a speech impediment. Foster parents are providing temporary care.
Percy Hughes, 28, a machinery packer fired for being too attractive, is reinstated after eight weeks. She called the incident silly and said she was annoyed by the dismissal. Hughes returned to work Tuesday as the firm confirmed her reinstatement following a March 15 firing. Ozark Air Lines directors declared a dividend Friday, signaling expected record profits for the year.
Richard Nixon from Seeley Lake Montana was recruited by an Army recruiter nicknamed Robin Hood. Hood, an 18 year veteran from upstate New York, stood by Nixon as he joined the service. Nixon said he avoids the public eye amid curious comments about his name.

President Nixon, vacationing at a Bahamas estate with C. G. Rebozo and Robert Abplanalo, urged the House Judiciary Committee to hold impeachment hearings in public after staff leaks. White House aide Ziegler accused unnamed lawmakers of prejudging the case and leaking selective tape evidence to smear the president.
Independent truck drivers on strike since Monday hinted they would use violence to shut down roads. In a 28 city conference call across 23 states, drivers urged by Overdrive magazine discussed pressuring Congress to lower fuel prices and raise speed limits. A Dallas speaker warned of a coming storm front with nails on highways, while Jim Lowell from Springfield called the situation a powder keg.
Linda M. Miller of Chardon Ohio files a 15 million suit in Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court claiming an abortion at Concerned Women's Clinic failed to prevent pregnancy and caused mental anguish lost wages and other damages. The suit names the clinic Controlled Parenthood Inc Cleveland and Philadelphia doctors as defendants. The claim notes she was unmarried and paid 150 for the abortion performed December 3.
The Southwest District Scout Show runs at the Huron County Fairgrounds until 8 tonight with exhibits and demonstrations. Films include Thoroughly Modern Millie at Towne and Country Theatre. Tonight's events include the Policeman's Ball from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. at the National Guard Armory. Sunday features two high school music shows including Norwalk High An Hour of Music at 3 p.m. and St. Paul’s Sounds in the Spring at 7 p.m.
Edward D. O Connell 41 of Lincoln Park files U.S. District Court suit against Ford Motor Co alleging age discrimination. He says he was passed over for seven promotions in 17 years while earning 15 467 a year as engineering change coordinator at the Rouge office in Dearborn despite excellent performance reviews. The suit seeks an injunction and back pay.
