In Columbus a 19-year-old William Smith and his 18-year-old wife Melinda were arrested for failing to report a death after their four-month-old baby died in April in Erie. They claimed the infant fell from a car seat during an accident and was placed in the tire well to conceal the body.
UPI reports Saigon controls a record 83.3 percent of South Vietnam's population in April, despite Communist spring offensives. U.S. officials note Viet Cong and North Vietnamese forces plan further ground attacks to reclaim sway as pacification efforts intensify around Da Nang and Da Nang's Hill 937.
