High Winds Cause Power Outage and Tree Damage in Norwalk
Strong 50 to 60 mph winds toppled limbs and trees across Norwalk. A maple fell on Charles Woodworth’s 1968 Cadillac in his driveway at 3:20 p.m., while a willow limb nearly struck A.E. White at 9 N. Pleasant St. Electricity and furnace outages affected residents, and a 3 hour outage south of Norwalk hit the New State Ridge Roads area. Ohio Edison Lorain district served the region. Norwalk sustained the heaviest damage among nearby towns.

Police officers identified in nude incident at Rhode Island motel
About a dozen off duty Boston police officers were identified by Ramada Inn staff as among those who stripped, streaked and gambolled in the motel’s nightclub and lobby during a drinking spree last Friday. Peter Stilphen said pictures from Boston Police Internal Affairs aided the identifications. The 120 officers were in Portsmouth for National Police Week, preparing for a Newport parade.

Fire rescues Speaker Albert’s wife from 11th floor apartment
In Washington this morning fire crews saved Mrs Mary Albert from her 11th floor apartment after Pvt Walter Lewis carried her through heavy smoke. She suffered a head knot but refused hospital care. Speaker Carl Albert was reportedly in New York giving a speech Tuesday night.

Boy's eye glued shut by new super glue incident
An 11 year old boy in Okeechobee Florida rubbed his eye after a bottle of new super glue splashed in. His eyelids stuck shut and a doctor later reopened the eye surgically after the local hospital could not provide an eye surgeon.

John F Kennedy Jr. aged 13 was robbed of his bicycle and a tennis racket in Central Park at 5 10 p m near the 90th Street entrance. A youth about 18 fled on the bike and racket and police did not find the assailant. The NYTimes report notes the victim was unharmed and authorities withheld the name of the minor victim.
