Juvenile Delinquency Up As Offenders Grow Younger

Judge Thomas E Heydinger reports his 1978 juvenile court annual shows younger offenders and tougher crimes. He cites nine under-11 cases, a 200% rise in 11 and under cases, and a drop in average age from 15.4 to 15.1. Seventeen youths were sent to the Ohio Youth Commission for repeat offenses.

Coast Guard conducts air and sea search for missing fishing trio

In Cleveland the Coast Guard launched an air and sea search for three people reported missing on a Lake Erie fishing trip near Sandusky. Rev. Gerald H. Green Sr., 63, of Bay Village, Don Skinner, 30, and his four year old son were last seen leaving shore at 5 30 a m Monday on a 15 foot outboard. They were reported missing around 2 a m today.

House votes to block state revenue sharing funds

Judy Born to resign as Norwalk Public Library director

Judy Born, director of Norwalk Public Library since October 1976, will resign effective June 30. She and her husband plan to move to Tampa, Florida, where he will work in Auto-Dynamics sales and service. The library board will consider the resignation at the May 22 meeting. the position will be advertised.

Hoffa tied to Kennedy killing by organized crime says report

COLUMBUS Ohio United Press International reports the House Assassinations Committee will name Jimmy Hoffa and mob leaders Carlos Marcello and Santos Trafficante as top suspects in Kennedy’s 1963 Dallas shooting. The panel reportedly cites two gunmen, with Lee Harvey Oswald firing three shots, and criticizes Warren Commission findings. The committee chair is Rep Louis Stokes. Local notices follow.
