A city bus carrying about 60 passengers struck an electrical pole in Cincinnati's Fairmount area at 7 55 am while coming from Westwood. Fifteen people were injured and transported to hospitals. no deaths were reported. A witness said a car may have forced the bus off the road.
Susan Ford, 17, photographed President Ford with a 35 mm camera at his press conference. She worked for a month for White House photographer David Hume Kennerly without compensation to gather images for a school project.
Washington aides in the Ford administration favor selling or gifting bankrupt northeastern lines to profitable railroads. They fear the USRA plan for a single ConRail system could push the government toward nationalization. ConRail would later repay federal debt and become a private railroad.
Ohio lawmakers pushed a bill to make the 55 mph highway speed limit permanent while leaving a path for a return to 70 mph on some freeways after June 30. Sponsors hope the Senate restores an emergency clause to prevent any loss of federal highway funds.
A late Tuesday fire heavily damaged a vacant two story house at 115 N Hester St owned by Harold J. Smith. Fire crews fought four hours to control the blaze, attic and second floor worst hit as ceiling sections fell.
In Huron County private operators push to replace Shady Lane with new beds and expansions. Curtis Springer of Quality Care Nursing Home says private homes will meet needs, building a 50 bed Willard facility while Norwalk and Willard sites add 50 beds.

Smith appointed Jon Schaffer as his lawyer after Fisher testified he had about 200 dollars refund due and no savings. County will cover costs exceeding the estimated 225 up to 300. Fisher faces possession for sale of hallucinogen sale of hallucinogen and delivery of a barbiturate.
The Norwalk Police Department will present Security For Your Home and Apartment at 7 30 tonight in the Norwalk High School Auditorium. The city Park Commission meets at 8 tonight in the city council chambers.
The Rev. Charles H. Pearce of Norwalk Alliance Church will move in June to become pastor of the Alliance Church in Wadsworth near Akron. He has served as unofficial chaplain for Norwalk High School teams and led youth activities. no replacement is named. His final services in Norwalk are June 1 with 10:45 a.m. and 6 p.m. services.
