Dale Lee Krumroy, 19, of 125 West Main Street, and Charlene Wilson, 17, of Fitchville, were injured when Krumroy’s car struck a tree while turning into a driveway in New London at 5:50 p.m. Both were taken to Fisher-Titus Memorial Hospital. Wilson sustained a fractured pelvis and Krumroy multiple injuries including a concussion and facial lacerations. Police said the car clipped a telephone pole and split the vehicle near the drive. Wilson said they were traveling too fast for the turn.
Lucinda Kirk, a 5-year-old Norwalk girl badly hurt when struck by a truck on April 23, was discharged from Elyria Memorial Hospital Friday.
Engineers from a Toledo firm warn the Linwood Avenue Bridge could collapse under overload from impatient drivers. The study favors replacement over repair, with three replacement options costing 255000 to 317000 dollars and current repairs estimated at 172000. Council members will discuss the report Tuesday night.
