A new police unit arrested three men and seized 100 stolen CB radios along with guns, calculators, adding machines, televisions, bicycles and tires in Thursday raids on a store and a residence. The store raid yielded 68 radios. the residence raid found 30 inside and two more in a van nearby.
Hans Mullikin a Texas Baptist evangelist trudges toward Washington along Route 80 from Marshall. he left in March and plans to preach a nationwide message urging prayer to save America. His trek reached Shreveport 33 miles from his home as he presses toward the Bicentennial goal. In parallel, Ohio politics face critiques of an antibusiness climate from General Telephone’s president at the stockholders meeting amid election slate changes.
Ohio unemployment in February was 414000, about 8.9 percent of the civilian labor force, virtually unchanged from January. Albert G. Giles, administrator of the Ohio Bureau of Employment Services, cited the rate as down nearly one percent from the previous February.
Lt. Gen Videla, anti Communist army commander who led the coup against Isabel Peron, named head of Argentina by the three man junta. He will be sworn in Monday as the United States formally recognizes the new government which has rounded up labor leaders and Peronists and outlawed five political parties to consolidate rule.

A small patient group at the National Cancer Institute receives a three to four month course of high dose anti tumor drugs plus radiation. Of 27 treated, 21 show no cancer signs for up to 14 months, improving survival and quality of life though two deaths occurred from treatment and cancer recurrence. Further study will expand access to this intensive therapy.
Two gondola cars broke loose from a 9640 foot cable on the Lionhead Gondola at Vail Mountain plunging 125 feet. Three people died and nine were seriously injured. Officials shut Lionhead Gondola I and Vail Village I. Names include Janice Pasterkamp 14 Englewood and Darlene Reese 42 Custer.
Jeannette Mushett, 78 S. Linwood Ave., was appointed by Common Pleas Judge Robert W. Smith Friday at the Huron County Courthouse to head the Bureau of Support. She will earn 9000 dollars and oversee more than 1000 cases and delinquent payments. She succeeds Irene Smith who resigned ill health. Mushett has worked as a bureau clerk since January 1974 and will determine if an additional worker is needed. She attended St Paul High School and is working toward a diploma.
Two American Cancer Society studies show teen girls nearly match boys in smoking 27 percent of 13 to 17 year olds for girls and 30 percent for boys, with girls displaying greater social ease and interest in sexual freedom. The surveys, based on 250 boys and 250 girls, blame relaxed anti smoking climate and report girls joining boys in smoking pot drinking and trouble with authorities.

Several hundred homes lost electricity for about an hour Friday night after a tree limb fell across lines on Hartland Center Road south of Zenobia Road. James Markel of Ohio Edison's Lake Erie Division said the outage lasted from 9:30 to 10:30 p.m. The affected areas include Olena Old State Road Peru Olena Road Scranton Road Zenobia Road Townline Road 51 and Hasbrock Road.
