Rail Car Blocks Old State Road Crossing Near Olena
A loaded rail car derailed off the Akron, Cleveland, and Youngstown line near Old State Road west of Olena at 3 55 Saturday afternoon, blocking the crossing for about 11 hours as crews failed to lift it. A bulldozer could not be located, and excavation contractor Neil Slessman was contacted to move the car. Separately, a TV cable cut during construction on Hester and Seminary Streets disrupted Continental Cablevision service to Norwalk residents until repairs could restore 300 feet of cable by mid afternoon.
