Norwalk Couple Sues Nationwide Insurance Over Fire Claim

Willard and Rosalie Rice of Zenobia Road sue Nationwide Insurance in common pleas court for 34,300 dollars for fire and windstorm damages to their large frame home and $2,450 for fixtures. The New London Home Savings & Loan Co. joins the suit seeking a jury trial, with Phillip M. White Jr. as attorney. The Rices, who lived in a mobile home beside the fire site, and trailer was destroyed by fire March 12.

Dick Alge Resigns From St. Paul High School

Dick Alge resigns as athletic director, coach, and teacher at St. Paul High School after five years. Drowning Accident Ends Lifeguard’s Effort in Rough Hawaii Surf

Francis Terry Wiedemann 24, a former Norwalk lifeguard, drowned in Kahuku Hawaii while swimming alone after watching a seven wave set. Friends recalled his optimism and misjudged risk as locals watched in disbelief and attempted rescue measures with a helicopter called but ineffective.

Beach Tragedy Claims Wiedemann At Hawaii Shore

John Wiedemann drowned after entering rough surf at a dangerous Hawaii beach. Witness Terry Martin described waves and a rapid sequence of resuscitation attempts by friends and the Kahuku rescue squad, noting the area’s formidable 10 foot plus surf and the beach’s infamous danger. Wiedemann had stayed at a beach house while his wife and young son visited relatives. Mrs. Wiedemann learned of the death Tuesday morning in Norwalk.
