Gilligan Proposes Record $9.1 Billion Ohio Budget

Gov. Gilligan proposes a graduated personal income tax from 1 to 8 percent based on adjusted gross income. A family of four with $7,500 AGI would face $105 tax before credits, a $10 exemption credit reduces by $400 to $65, and home property taxes over 25 mills yield further cuts. A $20 000 home assessed at 8 000 with 29 mills would cut $32 from $65, leaving $33 owed, about 63 cents weekly.
