President Johnson asks Congress to create a cabinet department to consolidate federal transit and safety agencies into a unified transportation system. He argues the current system is fragmented and requires coordinated executive functions.
The state argues Candy Mossler is most guilty though she did not strike the fatal blow, as the jury awaits further summations. The defense counters there was no motive for Candy and her nephew Melvin Lane Powers to kill Jacques Mossler, her husband. Ohio bonded indebtedness drops by 1.9 million since Gov Rhodes took office in 1962, to 360 million on Jan 1.
