Police detained 59 year old Ollie Morris in Youngstown about a shooting that killed nine year old Cheryl Jordan. No charges yet. a .22 revolver was found. The incident followed a litter dispute among children near the neighbor’s yard.
Martha Knorre a 23 year old Ohio University graduate will work with migrant families at the Stokely Van Camp plant camp this summer aided by Sherry Martin and volunteers. They seek more volunteers for educational and recreational activities and note scheduling needs.

The Rev. Dietrich B. Cordes 59 former rector of St. Pauls Norwalk and later St. Marks Shelby died Friday at Lima Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. Born January 15 1909 in Chaleroi Pa he was a 32nd degree Mason and past state Legion chaplain survived by wife Ruth four sons daughters and siblings. Funeral Monday 2 pm at St Marks Shelby with retired bishop Nelson M Burroughs and archdeacon Louis M Brereton officiating memorials to St Marks Memorial Fund.
Lillie Hintz a 16 year old from Berlin Heights drove north on Route 61 toward Arlington Road when her car left the roadway crossed the center and plunged down an embankment. Three passengers suffered light injuries and all were treated at Fisher-Titus Hospital.
SPRINGFIELD Mo UPI a man fell 8 000 feet Friday from a DC 3 over southwest Missouri. Passengers heading to the Lions International convention in Dallas were not injured. The FBI said the door opening was under investigation and the pilot felt a jolt when the warning light flashed.
Two Norwalk city officials released from hospital discharged to their homes. Service Director Morley Price left Cleveland Clinic and returned to City Hall briefly. City Council President Deibert Crawford was discharged from Fisher-Titus Memorial Hospital the following day.
