Grivas Warning Sparks Cyprus Crisis Fears

Pastor Millheim Named General Secretary of Christian Council

The Rev. John E. Millheim of Calvary Baptist Church is elected general secretary of the American Council of Christian Churches. He will lead three million Protestants from New York City in September, leaving Norwalk in August to begin a nationwide speaking and publishing role and two annual conventions.

Mansfield tragedy claims 15 month old in weekend accident

A 15 month old girl, Michelle R. Weigle, died from a crushed skull after a car rolled over her at the Herbert Morrow residence near Greenwich. The car, left in gear by a 21/2 year old, rolled backward as the family unloaded from a station wagon. The child’s body was taken to Willard Municipal Hospital where Dr. Emery attributed death to the skull injury. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at Greenwich Church of Christ with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery.

Lodge May Ask Ike's Aid In Scranton Push

Nora Woods Norwood Founder Dies at 72

Nora Irene Woods 72 founder of Norwood Christian Nursing Home died at home in Norwalk Sunday. Funeral at Kubach Smith Funeral Home at 2 p.m. with Rev. Glenn Springer officiating. She came from Cleveland 22 years ago and left a son Eugene H Woods and a daughter Melba Barnes plus relatives. Burial Woodlawn Cemetery.

Salvation Army Officers to Leave Norwalk Post

Captain Hall and his wife will depart for Wadsworth to begin a new assignment, ending a three year Norwalk post. Capt. Dennis Blanchard will arrive to lead with Lt. Walter Swigert assisting until September, after a June 27 1961 Norwalk arrival. Khrushchev arrives in Oslo for an official Norway visit greeted by about 5000 people. He says the trip aims to foster mutual understanding.

Lodge Delivers Final Viet Nam War Report to Johnson
