New London Hosts 39 AFS Pupils in Community Event

New London prepares to welcome 39 American Field Service students from 22 countries for a three day visit. The group arrives July 6 at 1 30 PM and will stay with host families. Activities include industry tours, pool visits, a community potluck, and a Cedar Point outing before departing Sunday morning.

Man Pleads Guilty In Huron County Assault Case

Lupe Esquivel aged 33 of 44 Reed Street pleaded guilty in Huron County Common Pleas Court to assault and battery. Judge Ralph Winters gave a six month jail term with suspension on conditions including good behavior, employment, law obedience, and abstaining from taverns and intoxicants. Translator Rev. P J Garcia assisted as Esquivel faced the court. Ronald H Freeman presented the state's case amid 1961 suit and insurance appeal notes.
