Tax petition shrinks as signatures drop in Norwalk
Three more residents withdraw from a petition opposing Norwalk’s 0.5 percent income tax hike leaving five names short of the required 352 valid voter signatures. City officials wait on a ruling by late Tuesday afternoon with signatures removable until Thursday. A special council session is set to address pay raises if the petition fails and the tax increase goes into effect Friday. Inglewood also reports a nostalgia-laden Hollywood Oaks win by Bil Shoemaker on Glenaris, while Monroeville plans an 8 pm meeting on a 9 mill operating levy for August 16 ballot.
