The Huron County Department of Health holds its monthly immunization clinic Friday from 1 to 3 p.m. on the third floor of the Huron County Courthouse. State law requires school entrants to have three diphtheria shots, three basic polio shots, and one smallpox vaccination.
Vice President Hubert H. Humphrey told the American Agricultural Editors Association that farm surpluses stored by the government have dwindled to almost nothing. He cautioned that aside from cotton and tobacco, reserves are barely adequate or below safe levels in several cases.
Senator Thomas J. Dodd impatiently awaits a chance to respond to critics as he faces the Senate Ethics Committee. He said he hopes to testify today but predicted the opportunity may come only after several days.
The 33 year old actress Mamie Van Doren wed Cedar Grove born minor league pitcher Lee Meyers, an heir to a $2 million fortune. Meyers, linked to Bo Belinsky by curves and romance, aims to emulate Belinsky’s no hitter feats.

A 17 year old Willard boy was found delinquent by Juvenile Court Judge Russell T Antrim for using false identification to attempt to buy beer. He was ordered to pay 25 dollars and court costs and to write a letter of apology to the tavern. Jerry Leto testified that on March 19 the youth used another boys license as ID.
Willard must stop dumping at its site after the Health Department will permit only a limited time. Huron County Commissioners, meeting with Willard City Manager Keith Armstrong and New London Village Supervisor Harold Cook, discuss a county owned, centrally located landfill. Sanitarian Roger Dixon will provide evidence of demand before a full county representative meeting is called.
In Saigon troops seized the National Buddhist headquarters at Vien Hoa Dao pagoda, arresting about 100 youths and a suspected killer. No shots were fired as Premier Ky moves to end the Buddhist resistance, with Thich Tam Chau condemning the action. Thich Tri Quang had led earlier unrest in Hue and Da Nang.
Norwalk High School driver training classes tested city motorists on a sunny morning. The results showed dangerous driving habits including 230 percent turn without signaling, 63 percent drive with one hand, 14 percent left from the wrong lane, and 71 percent running red lights.
Debbie Jump, 16, was elected speaker of the house at Buckeye Girls State this week. Her father, Rep. Harry Jump, had been a leading candidate for speaker in the Ohio Legislature before withdrawing to run for the state senate.
Two Mansfield women Rita Shoulders and Carole M King pleaded innocent to grand larceny in a Common Pleas Court hearing. They are accused of stealing a $160 box from a Norwalk service station Tuesday night. Bond set at $1000 cash or $2000 property. King released after posting bond. Shoulders to post bond later. She was found guilty on a speeding charge and fined $30 plus costs.
Chairman John Borgia reports 66 parade units with over 1200 participants in Norwalk. Final registrations were tallied to produce the turnout figure for the upcoming Fourth of July procession.
Miss Frances R. Kozak a 19 year old from Norwalk sustained a head bump in a two car collision at Ohio 601 and Old State Road. The other driver Mrs Shirley Jensen 39 RD 1 received a citation for failure to yield the right of way. Kozak also had a minor accident the previous night.
Merton Ackerman of Sandusky sues 11 year old Robert Ackerman of Monroeville for injuries to David Ackerman 9 from a June 28 1964 tree fall. The petition seeks 15000 for damages plus 931 15 for hospital and doctor costs.
The city park and recreation board presents the 20th annual open air Nor walk Public Concert at Memorial Lake Park tonight from 7:45. Five Thursday concerts are planned this year and R P Laycock, the director, invites all ages from high school to adult to bring instruments and perform. Families and interested persons are welcome.
