Colum bia Gas Employe Will Retire
Anthony A. Schaffer of rural Monroeville plans retirement from Columbia Gas of Ohio after 16 years with the firm. A pipe fitter on the Norwalk Distribution Department crew, he started in January 1951 and will retire July 1 at age 65. He was born near Monroeville, attended Peru schools, and belongs to St. Alphonsus Church. He and his wife Frieda have two sons and two daughters living in Norwalk and Monroeville, with a son-in-law and daughter in Marywood Ohio.

CAC Hikes Pay Of Rev. Hayduk
The Eric Huron Community Action Commission voted Tuesday night to raise the salary of Rev. George Hayduk from 450 to 480 dollars per month. Hayduk was hired as a neighborhood aide in March at 325 dollars and promoted to program coordinator at 450 dollars in April.

Trial Of Damage Suit Opens In Huron County Court
A jury was impaneled in Huron County Common Pleas Court to hear a $150 000 damage suit filed by Clara Goostree against Earl K Pederson over an auto accident on Route 250 August 6 1966. Goostree was a passenger in a car driven by her husband Gliness. Attorneys are Herbert Freeman and Walter Hite for Goostree and Earl Miller Jr for Pederson.

Cash For Supplies Runs Short In Erie Huron Areas
The Erie Huron Counties Community Action Commission reports a shortage of funds for postage stamps telephone travel and supplies though salaries are covered. Director Emerson E Cole sought approval to move funds from the personnel account to other needs but the board delayed action until a balance report is provided. Cole cites a delayed program coordinator hire as the cause of the surplus in the personnel account.
