Radio Amateurs gear up for Field Day drill in Norwalk

The Radio Amateurs of Huron County plan four complete stations at Norwalk Memorial Lake Park from 3 p.m. Saturday to 6 p.m. Sunday to test emergency communications with generator power and public demonstrations. Two local campaign expenses are reported as part of recent elections, and a break‑in at a Phillips 66 station is investigated after a window is broken in the overnight entry.

Warren chief justice resigns from Supreme Court

Earl Warren, 77, has submitted his resignation as chief justice of the United States. Sources say he sent a letter to President Johnson around the close of the court’s 1967-68 term, marking the end of a liberal and controversial era on the Supreme Court. The White House had no immediate comment.

Western Reserve teachers gain schedule raising pay to 7 850 top

Huron County Fair dates may move earlier in 1969

Huron County Fair could shift to Labor Day week in 1969 if the State Fair Board approves. Fair board director Ralph Fulton said unanimous June 6 votes favor the change to avoid school conflicts. Models Scare Pilot At Huron County Airport Runway

Denver pilot Carl Beck filed a complaint with the Sheriff noting two men using the airport runway with model planes 18 to 24 inches long. Beck said one model plane flew directly above his landing aircraft causing fear and risk of collision. The sheriff referred the matter to Huron County commissioners and suggested warning signs to keep model planes off the runway.

A 44 car antique motorcade, ages from six to 70s, stops at Norwalk Fire Station for a coffee break during a 28 day run from Times Square to San Francisco. Notable travelers include honeymooners Mr and Mrs Don Smith in a 1913 Packard and six year old Leslie Newcomer with his parents in a 1912 Buick Roadster.
