The Weather Bureau issued a 10.5 inch rainfall advisory for Olton Texas in 45 minutes, then retracted it less than an hour later calling the measurement an error. A farmer noted what he thought was rain was actually water from a sprinkler filling a bucket on his farm.
Dr Martin Luther King launches Operation Breadbasket with about 200 ministers to press bread makers for increased Black hiring in Cleveland. He and aides plan meetings with industry officials to push employment parity as part of a nationwide civil rights effort.
U.S. officials hope Libya will not demand a U.S. withdrawal from Wheelus Air Force Base near Tripoli. Libya, urged by Egypt, issued another eviction notice on the last American military base on Arab soil. Administration sources said anti American sentiment might ease and evacuation would be forgotten.
National Guardsmen in jeeps with mounted guns patrolled Cincinnati tomaintain order after three nights of racial violence. A coal company fire 10 miles northeast was the era most serious incident. Four wounded by gunfire and property damage estimated at 2 million dollars.

A downtown parade leads the Miss Huron County pageant series tonight with 41 units marching from Seminary Street at 6. Forming at 5 p m in the Seminary Street lot, participants travel Church Street through the downtown area. The Miss Huron County dance is set for Saturday and the pageant for June 24.
In Waterford Caroline Kennedy and several children enjoyed a mid morning dip near the Woodstown estate while more than 50 photographers snapped from shore and boats. Mrs Kennedy said she was deeply perturbed and would seek privacy via a formal appeal to newsmen.
Ellis F. Dunmyer of Hamilton is named the new Western Reserve Local School District superintendent replacing Roe Hildreth. He holds degrees from Findlay College Toledo University and Miami University and begins August 1 at a salary of 11 000. He and his wife Hazel have five children.
Richard Mutz was elected permanent chairman with Claude Martin Jr as assistant chair and Mrs Martha Johnson as secretary. The committee reviewed Alexander Inc performance, the survey firm for the Norwalk Planning and Zoning Committee. Meetings with Alexander are tentatively set for July 5 and 6.
United Nations vote clears way for a one day procedural session to set the agenda as Russia seeks Arab withdrawal to 1949 lines. Kosygin heads Soviet delegation en route to the United States while Belgium joins the 62 nations backing the session. President Johnson shows polite openness to meeting Kosygin.
A grass fire near Chapin and Chapin on Route 20 east ignited a pile of salvage tires at 8 52 p m Thursday. Fire crews fought the blaze for hours with a bulldozer from Chapin and Chapin Construction Co helping control the fire. The tire value was not known.
New York police prepare for Soviet Premier Alexei Kosygin arrival with an estimated 2000 to 3000 officers assigned to guard him and his entourage at the United Nations. Officials aim to avoid the massive deployments seen for Khrushchev and Pope Paul VI in past events. Kosygin and his party may stay at the Soviet Mission headquarters in mid Manhattan.
A young East Cleveland widow, Victoria Thomas, 27, rescued six people by climbing into Aurora Lake after a car skid and plunge. She guided them onto the car roof, then swam each to shore. Her husband died in 1966 saving comrades from a Viet Cong grenade.
