Landoll wins Worst golfer title at Bino Invitational
Arco Station owner Bob Landoll captured the Bino Invitational with 74 strokes at Sycamore Hills to earn the event's "Worst" golfer honor. He trailed rivals like Bob Dilger and Ed Snyder, with several players posting better figures as four-man teams finished close in net scoring. The event featured low gross honors by Denny Stoltz and low net by Brad Tinker, plus closest-to-the-pin and longest-drive prizes amid a field of construction workers and local players.

Spectacular Bid Blames Injury For Triple Crown Defeat
The horse Spectacular Bid finished third at Belmont after trainer Bud Delp disclosed Bid's left front hoof was pierced by a safety pin, causing bleeding. Jockey Ronnie Franklin admitted lying about the horse choking, saying the injury was the real reason for the poor showing. Belmont officials expressed disbelief and saw no immediate need for investigation after the pre race vet approved Bid.
