The Norwalk Municipal Swimming Pool opens tomorrow with hours 1 to 4 30 p m and 6 to 8 30 p m Recreation Director Tom Butler will be at the pool 10 a m to 5 p m to sell season passes Swimming lessons start June 22 and are nearly full, Butler said.
The Blue Flame Festival, a traveling show for homemakers, comes to Norwalk High School auditorium on June 17 and 18 at 8 p.m. Admission is free. Co sponsor Columbia Gas of Ohio Inc with The Reflector and local merchants. Hostess Alice Ashworth and Bob Eichhorn lead the show with Betty Newton assisting.
The Rev. T. G. S. Whitney and Bishop Nelson M. Burroughs announce the appointment of Robert H. New as assistant at St. Pauls Episcopal Church. New, a Minnesota native and former Stouffer Corp executive, will be ordained as a deacon at Trinity Cathedral in Cleveland and begin his post Monday in a pioneering two clergymen in residence program aimed at building community impact.

County commissioners curtailed 129 miles of work under a 1964 plan valued at 271,269 dollars, up 37,805 from 1963. Urban C. Livengood expects completion by November if weather cooperates, with major projects including sealing and dragging on multiple roads and numerous miles scheduled for treatment.

The Senate passed a Morton amendment to grant jury trials in criminal contempt cases under the antidiscrimination statute except voting cases. Voting rights remain under the 1957 Act with penalties over 45 days or a $300 fine. The 51 to 48 vote contrasted with a prior 46 to 45 defeat. The move defies Senate leaders who backed their own jury trial plans.
