Levy decisions threaten Wellington and Buckeye Central schools
Only a few Huron County residents will vote on June 6 on Wellington eight mill operating and 1.85 mill building and repair levies. Buckeye Central faces a $301,000 operating levy that could delay or end school openings with deficits cited by Supt. Ronald Yaussy. If Wellington fails, state funds tied to local millage would drop revenues. Buckeye Central could borrow to stay open but face possible closing if funds run out.

Sunday Liquor Sales Up For Vote In Huron County Precincts
Voters across nine Huron County precincts head to the polls Tuesday to decide local option questions on Sunday liquor sales. Most queries cover carry-out sales, with on premise consumption tested in Bellevue precincts 3-B and 3-C. Petitions to place both Sunday and carry-out sales on the ballot were led by Beer Dock Lounge owner Carl Mira. Other precincts include Norwalk 1-B 4-B, 2-C 2-D, Monroeville, and Townsend Township with petitions from Jo and Eds Carry-Out, the Hitching Post, Morrow’s Foodland, and Corner Store owner Charles Grine.
