Willard to vote on charter system change
Willard residents will decide this November whether to keep the charter city manager system or switch to a mayor council form under state statutes. Clerk Eugene McEndree certified a petition meeting the 10 percent signature requirement to place the issue on the ballot. Hospital Faces 10000 Suit Over Fall At City Hospital
A $10,000 suit filed by Marguerite Davies in Huron County Common Pleas Court names the City of Willard as operator of Willard Municipal Hospital and alleges negligent use of a wheeled stretcher. She says her husband Harold Davies suffered a heart attack June 18 1960 and was injured when a wheel detached from a bed on wheels while being moved down a ramp by hospital employee David Morris, causing the stretcher and husband to fall on her, injuring her ankle.

Sniper scare delays Wilson at White House talks
A reported sighting near Blair House prompted a 15 minute delay for Prime Minister Harold Wilson at a White House meeting with President Johnson. A British spokesman said the man carried what appeared to be a wrapped rifle but searches found no weapon or suspect.
