Evelyn Stebbins Fights Nuclear Power In Ohio Hearings
Evelyn Stebbins, 52, longtime Ohio anti nuclear critic, leads the Coalition for Safe Electric Power of Cleveland. She battles Ohio Edison’s Erie Nuclear Plant before the Ohio Power Siting Commission, sharing a table with Edison lawyers and other officials. Stebbins argues the plant isn’t in the public interest and cites a stronger OPS C staff position. She has fought prior plants and remains a determined, vocal advocate despite losses. She believes current hearings offer a better chance for opponents than federal reviews and highlights past environmental concerns about Lake Erie and public health.
