Towne and Country’s Oliver falls short despite strong youth performances
The Towne and Country production of Oliver! opens with solid Oliver and Dodger acting but music emphasis dulls story. Jeff Freeman’s Bumble undercuts tone while John Nestra’s Bill Sikes and Dan Spray’s Fagin deliver believability. Strong sets and costumes boost a show that ends with notable Grimwig Bedwin scenes and a fine Oliver Dodger number.
