The Toledo Times ends daily edition after slumping readership and ads. About 50 of its 120 employees are laid off. Remaining staff join the Toledo Blade, which had purchased the Times in 1931.
Deputy auditor Jackson Smith warned Norwalk Kiwanis that the next January reassessment will raise average home values by about 40 percent and trigger higher real estate taxes.
