French radio says Communist North Viet Nam will try captured American pilots as war criminals. The claim followed warnings from the United States about possible disastrous consequences in the Viet Nam conflict. The dispatch cites Tran Do Binh speaking in Peking at a news conference.
More than 1,400 city workers strike the City of Dayton seeking higher wages. Despite a temporary injunction under the state no strike law for public employees, picket lines appear at about 20 city installations this morning.
Washington reports the 58.6 billion defense appropriation moves toward overwhelming House approval with debate and final vote likely. In El Paso, Edward H. White II and Russell Schweickart escaped injury when their jet trainer ran off a runway as Gemini 4 coverage continued from Houston and Gemini 10 orbited. Cincinnati detectives returning from Aiken doubted an 18 year old suspect linked to the deaths of three women, noting his boast of being the strangler from Cincinnati.

Police investigate a hit and run in a Norwalk A and P Store parking lot Monday night. Doris E. Dickerson reported a pickup truck struck her car earlier. Hubert C. Marlow was cited for failing to stop after his semitrailer rear ended another truck. The Marlow truck suffered front-end damage. the other truck, driven by Robert I. Newland, was undamaged.
Eldon Richard Murray 30 died at Willard Municipal Hospital from injuries after a bicycle collision that also killed his wife Marilyn 31 and two sons Timothy Richard 7 and Kevin Lynn 4 on Fort Ball Road Saturday. White charged with reckless operation as State Patrol continues investigation. Memorial services for the Murray family set for 5 p.m. Wednesday at the First Lutheran Church of Plymouth.
A 65 year old Ohio Highway Department worker died from injuries after the tractor mower he was driving was struck by a truck on a roadside scene. The incident highlights dangers faced by road crews amid ongoing maintenance operations.
WR football coach James Hastings and wife announce resignations citing illness and better pay. Hastings leaves with a 10-6-2 record over two years and a 6-1-2 mark last season to take a graduate assistant post at Murray State College. His wife will teach near Pikeville Kentucky. No replacement planned.
The Sandusky police identified the drowning victim as 93 year old Robert Teasley of 1818 Second Street Sandusky. There was no evidence of foul play and the identification was made Monday afternoon by his wife and a stepson.
Selective Service figures show 16 men from Huron County to be inducted August 10, up from 13 in July and eight in June. Statewide, 2,207 men were called, up 536 from July. August 31 brings 51 local physicals, three fewer than July, with August 1965 as a past benchmark.
Huron County Republicans are planning a "Neighbor to Neighbor" fund raising drive to support the campaign chest. The idea was unveiled at a Policy Committee meeting of the County Republican Executive Committee. Jack Gerken was named chairman of Precinct Committee Workers.
The Norwalk Chamber of Commerce launches a drive to recruit women members sending letters to local women employees. If interest grows a women’s group may form within the chamber, with current female directors and plans for social and working duties including banquet help and phone calls.
Charles Hipp city auditor will address the Norwalk Lions Club on city finances at tonight’s meeting. Hipp joined the Lions in October 1946 and has held several offices including president in 1954 1955. The club’s annual picnic is set for August 3.
