Benefit Dance for John Hemenway by St Paul CYO
The Norwalk St Paul Catholic Youth Organization sponsors a benefit dance for John Hemenway on Monday July 21 from 8 p.m. to midnight in the St Paul Parish Social Hall. The Silver Strings local rock combo performs to aid the John Hemenway fund. Proceeds from the dance and refreshments go to the fund. Adult swimming classes at Norwalk City Pool remain open with signups at 8:30 tonight or Friday night. Seven pupils attended the first class Wednesday. The $10 series covers 10 lessons. North Fairfield reports 1.4 inches of rain in an hour this morning as basements and catch basins overflow after recent flooding.

The Norwalk Lions Club mobilized twenty members Tuesday night to clean Roy Cooper's Water Street apartment property. They used members' pickup trucks and worked four hours on site. Some volunteers will return tonight to finish the project, with John Holden of North Fairfield donating time and a truck.

Car Taken In Milan Is Found
A 1964 Dodge Dart stolen from Milan Public Square Sunday was found abandoned in Lorain this morning. Lawrence Koch of rural Norwalk parked the car on the Square while he and his wife were with friends. Police Chief James Knallay said an all points bulletin led to the find. the car appeared undamaged and Koch would collect it later today.
