Medical board raps Dr Gotsis over infection patterns
Ohio Medical Board has begun legal action against New London Hospital Chief of Staff Dr George Gotsis, potentially stripping him of his license. Investigators found an alleged unacceptable pattern of dangerous infections among his surgical patients, including hernia, pelvic, gall bladder, and uterine surgeries. The Cleveland Press reported he admits about a quarter of the hospital’s patients. The board notified him he has 30 days to respond to charges of gross unprofessional conduct and departure from standard care.
