Norwalk Plans Citywide Sidewalk Repair Program
Norwalk City Council approved a measure to inspect sidewalks this summer and start repairs. About 300 property owners will be notified to fix sidewalks within 30 days of notice or face billed costs. Notices cover streets including Newton Street 71 to 134, West Main Street 71 to 293, State Street 107 to 113, Norwood Avenue 111 to 167, South West Street 7 to 9.

Walt's Norwalk Cab Hours Cut With Rate Denial
City Council denied wage increases for Walt's Norwalk Cab and approved a summer hours change from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. June 1 to August 31 with 24 hour service resuming after. Sunday service was reduced and a partial Sunday closure won. The company must operate 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sundays to aid churchgoers amid protests over the burden of weekend work.
