Norwalk Plans Fourth of July Parade and Festivities
Norwalk prepares a July Fourth celebration with a Lions Club parade at 10 a.m. from Townsend and East Main, about 130 units, and a Treasure Chest Float distribution of 5 000 keys. Afternoon events include English Walk races, bicycle races, a horseshoe tournament, watermelon eating contest, archery and muzzle loader exhibitions, bingo and dart games, a 60 yard hole in one, and a 10 p.m. fireworks display at the fairgrounds.

Mother Sues Driver Over Injury To Son
Marcella Daugherty of Woodlawn Avenue sues Jennings Ready Mix and truck driver William Snow for 25000 alleging her son Sean was struck while riding a bicycle by a truck leaving a Jennings lot. Sean suffered scalp bruise concussion lip cut abrasions and possible amnesia per the complaint. Police say Snow stopped after seeing the boy but the bike struck the truck. Daugherty is a reporter for the Sandusky Register.

Three Rescue Squad Members Injured In Turnpike Truck Crash
Three members of the Florence Township Rescue Squad from Birmingham were injured when their rescue truck overturned on the Ohio Turnpike 10 miles east of the Norwalk exit while en route to a truck fire. The crash left two in fair or better condition, with one undergoing surgery for back injuries. The fire ultimately destroyed a truck trailer. traffic backed up for miles as responders treated the injured.
