Northern Ohio Telephone Co advances two Norwalk exchange expansion projects set for completion by October. The northeast Norwalk upgrade adds nearly 13,000 feet of aerial and underground cable along Hester Street north. The northwest rural project costs 16,500 dollars to boost aerial and buried facilities to meet demand for five to ten years. The Norwalk exchange covers 145 square miles and serves over 9,000 telephones.
Norwalk residents led by Kiwanis president R E Wildman pursue converting land between Bremser Park and the reservoir into a city park with bridle paths and picnic areas. City ownership is partial and acquisition faces practical hurdles. Wildman hopes a community project could proceed.
