In PORT CLINTON Ohio opponents win a pause on construction as the Atomic Energy Commission orders a halt on site work until hearings are held. A LIFE group had urged exceptions for phases of building by Toledo Edison and Cleveland Electric Illuminating.
President Nixon urged Congress to provide 1.1 billion dollars to move toward an all volunteer Army. He did not specify how the funds would be used but reaffirmed the goal and said legislation would follow.
