Benjamin A. Javits, 76, brother of Senator Jacob Javits, suspended for three years over misconduct in the Lewis S. Rosenteil divorce case. He will appeal the disbarment ordered by a 4-1 court ruling citing serious breach of professional ethics.
Rep. Robert F. Drinan of Massachusetts, the first Roman Catholic priest elected to Congress, will wear clerical clothes, live in Georgetown Jesuit community, and use his $42,500 salary for district services. He accepts either title, Father or Congressman Drinan.
U S sources report limited gains from air campaign against the Ho Chi Minh Trail and warn of a possible Cambodian fuel airlift to Phnom Penh. Gen Weyand meets Lon Nol as Laird and Adm McCain plan talks amid stalled Route 4 reopen efforts and renewed river ambushes.
City Council President K S Flickinger moved Domenic Coletta to chair the Fire and Building Code Committee replacing George Linn. Flickinger cited Linn's lack of meetings and urged project initiation including a new fire truck and regular inspections. Linn questioned the authority to remove a chair mid term and noted prior meetings with contractors on building code.
UPI reports U. S. Chamber of Commerce tax expert Robert R. Statham says a typical four person family earning 10000 dollars in 1970 would reach 16000 dollars in 1980. He warns that while income rises 60 percent, total federal state and local taxes would double over the decade.
Governor elect John J. Gilligan is expected to appoint Col Dana L. Stewart of Cleveland to lead the Ohio National Guard, succeeding Maj Gen S T Del Corso. Stewart, 50, commands the 107th Armored Cavalry Regiment, which has experience in civilian disorder control. A unit of the 107th was at Kent State University on May 4 when four students were killed and nine wounded, though Stewart was not on duty then.
Los Angeles mayor Sam Yorty voiced that Angela Davis would have been better off fleeing to Algeria rather than returning to California for trial on conspiracy kidnapping and murder charges. He rejected moving the trial venue from San Rafael to Los Angeles, citing security concerns.

Mrs. James Duby, 22, of 17 Corwin Street, was admitted to Fisher-Titus Memorial Hospital after her hair caught in a drill press at McCrillis Inc. She received 12 stitches and is in satisfactory condition. Gary Greene, assistant general superintendent, blamed long hair and described the incident during drill work on gavel heads.
William Lewis and Martha Brown named to the Mayor's Committee on Human Relations. Lewis fills the unexpired term of James Hertenstein ending June 30, 1972, and Brown takes over William Conway's seat ending June 30, 1971. Conway and Hertenstein resigned last September. first meeting set for 8 tonight in city council chambers.
