Burglars Enter Two Area Schools Find Only 155
Norwalk Junior High and Western Reserve High School were burglarized Sunday night. About 125 dollars was stolen from Norwalk Junior High, 30 from the Western Reserve site, with nine windows broken and desks ransacked. A separate note lists a prior Western Reserve burglary netting 1,037 dollars.

Auto Rams Train At City Crossing
A Vickery man is in serious condition at Elyria Memorial Hospital after a collision at the Gallup Avenue crossing. James R. Brant, 32, was in the ICU after his car struck a train engine and was dragged into a crossing pole before landing in a ditch. Franklin D. Madden of Fremont, a passenger, was treated and released for fractured ribs and cuts. The incident occurred about 5 30 p m Saturday. A fireman reported the car approached from the east and hit the train. Brant was taken to Fisher-Titus and then transferred to Elyria. Oil workers began a nationwide strike as talks faltered, signaling a long cold winter.
