Bob's Carry Out & Grocery Turns 43 Amid Busy Rural Stand
Bob Haas, known as Bob, runs Bob's Carry Out & Grocery on Route 61 East for nearly 20 years. Born with cerebral palsy and wheelchair bound, he works 364 days a year from 8 to 8 in winter and 9 at night in summer, with his 77-year-old father assisting on bad days. The store grew from gum and candy to a larger general shop open daily except Christmas, drawing loyal customers who know him by name and aid in packing and giving correct change.
