Funeral services will be held Friday for Sharon Thomas 17 daughter of former Pittsburgh Pirate slugger Frank Thomas. She died New Year’s Day after plunging 35 feet from a stalled elevator while attempting a five foot leap to safety at a Sheraton North Motor Inn party in Ross Township. She was the third eldest of eight children.

Britain museums start charging admission for first time
