Willard Man Seeks Dismissal in Hospital Bill Suit

Wilbur Salyer asks Huron County Common Pleas Judge Robert W. Smith to dismiss Willard Area Hospital’s suit for 115,127 in medical bills tied to prolonged hospitalization of his wife Marie. The hospital had won a 639,858 judgment against the hospital after Mrs Salyer’s brain damage from a June 1 1976 tubal ligation and appendectomy. Patrolman Cleared in Nagy Shooting Near Springfield

The Ohio Highway Patrol found trooper A W Burke acted properly in the Jan 25 shooting that killed Joy Lynn Nagy, daughter of Joseph Nagy. The report says Nagy sped and tried to force the cruiser off the road, then attacked Burke, who drew his pistol leading to the fatal discharge. Nagy was indicted on several charges.

PacO Approves Ohio Electric Rate Increase

The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio approved 32.8 million dollars of the roughly 63 million dollar emergency rate hike sought by Columbus and Southern Ohio Electric Co. The company said the total increase would fund existing and new power facilities and restore its financial health.

At Ehove Joint Vocational High School Cedar Point hires Kerry Jett 24 as service manager after his resignation as agricultural mechanics instructor effective Feb 23 was refused by the Board of Education on Creighton Ghrist recommendation. Lowe predicts summer recession and 1979 inflation

United States may face a mid year recession and ongoing inflation in 1979 said Citizens National Bank President Earle H. Lowe in a year end shareholders report. He cited five domestic and international risks including weak Federal Reserve leadership and rising oil concerns. Lowe noted Bank earnings and assets growth through 1978 and urged proactive measures. An organizational meeting for the National Organization for Women is planned at 7:30 p.m. at the Home Savings & Loan building on Executive Avenue.
