Greenwich Plans Fire Station and Village Upgrades
Greenwich officials plan a 30 by 80 foot fire station on a village lot between the Municipal Building and Foster Frozen Foods with bids to be sought. Chassis for the new fire truck will be delivered by month’s end, then sent to Sutphen Fire Equipment Co in Columbus for build, with a summer delivery expected. The council also studies hospitalization insurance for five full-time employees at 118.63 dollars per month, while partitioned council rooms rearrange space for the BPA clerk, village clerk, and council area. The mayor and police move to the Municipal Building front office, prompting needs for cabinet storage. Budgeted cost sharing for clerical space is approved. Additionally the council second-read an ordinance on police salaries and approved purchases of six and twelve foot ladders for the Municipal Building.
