Terri Lee Shields of Fairmont East High School was crowned the 1969 Ohio Junior Miss, representing South Dayton. She succeeds Melissa Rhode of Middletown and will compete nationally in Mobile, Alabama next month.

Weather updates forecast a high in the 30s and rising cloudiness with a low in the 20s. Norwalk records a 36 degree high and 6 degree low with no precipitation and variable winds tonight. Marriage licenses issued for Swingle and Haines of Willard and Weaver and Graffice of New London. Birth notices list seven newborns and one death for Esther F. Songstock, age 69.

Car destroyed after crash on Ohio Turnpike

A car plunged over an embankment on the Ohio Turnpike early Sunday and caught fire. Michael Slywka 19 of Chicago suffered a possible nose fracture but refused treatment. Otis Malone 44 of Berlin Heights was admitted after a hand injury. later discharged. Four teens were treated for injuries after a Route 224 accident. Downtown Dodge won a county bid to supply three five yard dump trucks for 21 946 78 including trade ins.

Youth Falls Through Tire Window During Fight

Terry P. Fulton age 16 of 25 Bank Street was injured Saturday when he fell through a plate glass window at H and H Tire Co. 74 East Main. He suffered two large head cuts and several smaller wounds after scuffling for a telephone. Attendant James C. Brechwald 21 tried to break up the scuffle. Fulton tripped over a tire and the 6 by 7 foot window gave way. He spent the night at Fisher-Titus Memorial Hospital.
