State Workers Push $1.35 Pay Raise in Ohio House

Ohio workers totaling about 82,000 would receive a $1.35 hourly raise under a bill introduced by ASCME backed by AFSCME. The across the board increase targets state and university employees and county welfare workers, to take effect with the 1979 80 budget. The plan includes COLA, night shift and hazardous duty pay, and would make permanent a previously approved pay supplement. AFSCME critic calls the raise not a real raise.
