Auditor Finds Miscalculation Expands School Budget

A county auditor's miscalculation added more than 300000 to city school appropriations. Monroeville Ends Board Standoff With Appointment

After 13 months of deadlock Mayor Clayton C. Lord appointed Kendall Smith to the board of public affairs. Smith, a teacher at Ehove and former Monroeville junior high instructor, was unanimously approved by the council despite prior refusals from the mayor. The board oversees electric, water, and sewer services, and the vacancy had persisted since Jan 3, 1978.
