The Builder's Association of Huron County held a Tuesday night meeting at Ellis Country Club to survey housing shortages in Norwalk. The discussion highlighted available building sites and a special follow up meeting was planned. Six new members were introduced: Home Savings and Loan Co., Citizens National Bank, Huron County Banking Co., Hill's Floor Covering, Wilkinson's Paint and Wallpaper Store, and William Dauch Concrete Co. Bud Brady and William McCreary were named to lead the membership drive and provide information to interested builders and related businesses.

OSU Coed Hours Extended For Students At OSU
The Dean of Women at Ohio State University announced that all junior and senior women and those over 21 will be allowed extended night hours next fall. The new rules allow staying out past midnight on weekdays and 2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday nights. The schedule will be drawn up by the Women's Self Government Association.

Eartha Kitt Arrested for Failing to Move on in Houston
Eartha Kitt was jailed in Houston after refusing to move away from a fatally ill man as police ordered. She canceled a Indianapolis performance to fight the charge and said she would have used her nursing training to try reviving him. Police charged her with failing to move on.

Picket Line Blocks Pioneer Rubber Workers In Willard
About 200 pickets lined up at the Pioneer Rubber Co in Willard preventing office workers from entering the plant. The United Rubber Cork Linoleum and Plastic Workers of America Local 804 has been on strike since January 25 awaiting negotiations. A temporary restraining order prohibits interference with access to the plant as police report no incidents.

Norwalk Plans Two Story Addition To City Hall
City Council votes 10000 for architect and engineering fees for a two story addition to the Norwalk municipal building. Plans due by April 1 with construction possibly starting in June and completion hoped within the year. Architect Thurman Peabody has submitted preliminary drawings detailing a colonial style front annex housing council chamber mayoral offices and related departments. Council member Richard Becker questioned the higher than expected amount. official said bills to date total 1235 and the ordinance was approved on an emergency basis.

The Huron County Board of Elections ruled all candidacy petitions filed by the Feb 4 deadline valid and approved poll book bids for upcoming primary and general elections.
