Trains collide after stop signal ignored near Archbold
In Archbold Ohio two Penn Central freight trains collided on a double track after one train ran a red stop signal at a crossover. Four crewmen were killed and two injured as a huge explosion and fire followed. The National Transportation Safety Board opened an investigation with preliminary findings that the trains were on the same track and the red signal was ignored.

Jobless Rate Drops To 7.8 Percent In January
The Labor Department reports January unemployment at 7.8 percent, down 0.5 points from 8.3 percent in December. About 450000 workers were rehired, the largest monthly decline since 1959, with gains across most sectors except teenagers.
