School Mascot Flew The Coop At Norwalk High
Norwalk High School adopted a banded pigeon as a mascot but the bird flew away after 2 1/2 hours. Principal Ervin Ul tican found the bird on a windowsill and brought it inside. The pigeon wore a band reading Ruzek August 1967. Sheriff’s deputies attempted to contact the game warden but the bird escaped before photo could be taken.
