Widow to remarry Chaffee widow plans remarriage in Houston

Mrs. Roger Chaffee, widow of the Apollo disaster victim, announced in Houston on Friday her plan to remarry. She will wed Bill Canfield, a Houston land developer she has known since last spring. She is 30 and has two children, Sheryl, nine, and Stephen, six.

Ohio Information Committee poll shows 91 percent oppose government funding of presidential and congressional campaigns and 93 percent oppose teacher strikes. About 6,000 Ohio business and civic leaders were contacted in the survey.

Princess Margaret shows good progress after Friday tonsil removal surgery. Lord Snowdon said she is not as well as can be expected but needs rest, noting the operation is somewhat serious for an adult. The princess is 37.

French man confesses to murder and arson of Austrian princess

Paris police report 22 year old Michel de Genouil lac admitted to fatally beating Princess Aniette de Rohan during a quarrel. He then soaked the body in gasoline and set the apartment ablaze to conceal the crime. The princess, 37, was found charred in her upscale Paris residence.

Coat Worth Forty Five Dollars Reported Stolen

C Eugene Jones of Spector's Junior Department Store in Norwalk said a woman's coat valued at $45 was taken Friday night by two women. One entered from the front, the other from the back. the first was 5 foot 6, mid thirties with stringy grey hair, the second 5 foot 4, younger, good looking with dark medium length hair and a yellow and grey jacket.

Two Persons Injured In Norwalk Area Accidents

The Highway Patrol reports three area accidents on Friday. Norwalk residents Henrietta Noon and Roseanna Frederick were treated for injuries at Fisher-Titus Memorial Hospital after a State Route 61 crash involving a semi truck driven by Robert Peters of Erie Michigan. Peters was uninjured and cited for speeding.

Accidents Sweep Norwalk Area With Fatal Bus Crash

Dozens of incidents reported at Norwalk police station include five accidents and two hit sks on Friday. A car spun on East Main Street striking road signs near Routes 18 and 20. On North Prospect Street two cars collided injuring drivers Kyle Jameson and Gloria Houghtsen. Willard high school students died in a head on crash with a Republic School District bus on Route 224 near Attica. Four Willard seniors died: James Robinson, Jerry Layne, Arthur Watts, Stephen Elmlinger. Survivors include Julian Bordner and Eldon Sealey hospitalized. Funeral arrangements announced for Robinson and Elmlinger. other details list obituaries and subsequent services.

Romney blasts South Vietnamese role in war at Wisconsin stops

Gov. George Romney cruised through Wisconsin lambasting the South Vietnamese for not taking a larger part in the war effort. Derailed Santa Fe Super Chief El Capitan injures dozens

Ten cars of the Santa Fe westbound Super Chief El Capitan derailed near Kansas City injuring about 40 people. Rescuers searched derailed cars as ambulances rushed to area hospitals. The engineer A D Mount of Emporia said emergency braking activated suddenly at 50 to 55 mph.

A strong earthquake struck southern Mexico causing widespread power outages in Mexico City and rattling luxury hotels in Acapulco. Health officials reported no immediate injuries as tremors lasted two to three minutes with a brief sharp jolt felt in the resort area 250 miles away.
