Bilks Girlfriends of $14,000 Guilty in Wisconsin
James C. Lambert, a 33 year old Milwaukee farmer, was found guilty on six counts of theft by fraud for bilking six women out of 14 000 dollars by promising marriage. The jurors accepted testimony that he proposed to each woman and asked for loans, with some selling property or risking bankruptcy to help him. Lambert denied proposing to five of the women and said he proposed to the sixth during a separation from his wife Jill, who attended the trial.

Gas Station Reports Loss At Clark Super 100
Ninety seven cartons of cigarettes, some gasoline, and $50 in cash were stolen from Clark Super 100 at 76 Benedict Ave over the weekend. Manager James R. Carroll said an employee was to open at 6 am, called at 10 am with no answer, and found doors unlocked with no one present. About $525 worth of goods were missing, and the three day employee has not been located.
